The Mission Statement of Daisi is as follows
- to provide people from the target group with information as per inquiry
- to continually update existing information, research specific areas and collect information relevant to the needs of current and potential users of the service
- to promote the service to reach both potential users and community support groups in the target area and also inform service providers, government officers, teachers and other health professionals of the role of the service
- to ensure that the service is managed efficiently, effectively and responsibly, according to funding guidelines and service principles
- to initiate, facilitate and take part in consumer and wider community forums in order to educate and raise awareness of issues for people with disabilities and frail older people
- to co-operate and link with other information services and peak groups, particularly those with an emphasis on disability and aged issues, to maintain and enhance widespread community understanding of the importance and value of information provision.
DAISI has a series of values that are intrinsic to all decision-making. These values are important to the development of a healthy and functioning culture.
