HACC/CALD
The HACC CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) Support Service is a project of DAISI, funded by the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care. People from a CALD background access Home and Community Care (HACC) services less than the population as a whole. The project aims to address this imbalance in the Far North Coast region of NSW. The project is funded to:
- Develop a one-stop-shop for people of NESB needing HACC services, and for service providers needing advice on procedures for contacting interpreters, translators,etc.
- Coordinate with other NESB workers in Centrelink, Neighbourhood Centre, TAFE,etc.
- Liaise with other government agencies planning for people of NESB CALD Support Service Brochures. The CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) project has produced a brochure outlining available HACC services for potential service users. The brochure has been translated into a number of the most common community languages in this region and is available for download from the Publications section of this website.
TIS is a national interpreting service provided through the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. TIS has access to over 1,300 contracted interpreters across Australia, speaking more than 120 languages and dialects.TIS is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for any person or organisation in Australia requiring interpreting services.

The Northern Rivers Migrant Service (NRMS) is a service providing information, assessment and referral services for new migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants, migrants living in an isolated area as well as for dependents of skilled migrants living in the Northern Rivers Area. This service ensures you get better access to mainstream services.

Rural Support SGP Project
The Rural Support project provides assistance and mentoring, resourcing and direct support to Department of Immigration and Citizenship funded projects in Northern NSW, and consultancy to other services in the Hunter, Mid North Coast, Richmond Tweed, Northern (New England), Central Western and Far Western regions.
