Daisi Board
DAISI is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act (NSW) 1984, and as such has a democratic voting and governance system based on elected voluntary members representing the membership.
The core duty of the Board of Governance is to govern DAISI in accordance with the Act. It is ultimately responsible for DAISI’s operation.
Now, l would like to introduce you to our Board.
CHAIRPERSON
Heather, DAISI’s Chairperson lives in Ballina and has been on the Board since June 2005. Heather is a Registered Nurse with a Community Health Certificate and has worked in the Northern Rivers community since 1975.
Since 1993 Heather has been Managing Director of North Coast Minders an in home Service
Provider for seniors and people with disability. She brings her years of experience of the North Coast and local
Service Provision knowledge to the DAISI board.
TREASURER
Ray Chesher joined the Daisi Board in 2008 and was appointed Treasurer. Ray comes to us with over 30 years experience in the filed of accounting and administration.
Formerly Ray worked for St George Building Society in various roles and Davids Holding as the marketing accountant. He is a Justice of the Peace (JP) and a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia (MTIA).
Ray currently works for Caringa Enterprises Inc in Grafton and has been the Administration/Finance Manager there since 1987. Caringa Enterprises Inc is a well reknowned disability service provider in the Clarence Valley.
ORDINARY MEMBERPhillip Carter, or Pip as he likes to be known, joined our Daisi Board in 2008 and brings with him 27 years senior management experience in Public Health and Aged Care. With 17 years as senior manager in Area Health Services, 3 years as CEO/Regional Manager in Central West Region of NSW, responsible for a 110 bed hostel, 3 independent living Unit Villages and three Opportunity Shops.
Pip is currently the CEO of St Andrew's Village in Ballina and commenced his role there in 2001. St Andrew's Village is an award-winning, community based, not-for-profit organisation consisting of Low Care, High Care, Dementia Care and 60 Independent Living units. They also provide respite care and client-funded care packages to the Ballina Community.
ORDINARY MEMBER
Stefan is a well know and much loved resident of the Tweed Heads community. Born in Britain, Stefan successfully achieved an honours degree in Electrical Engineering. After that, he worked in England for a period and also in Italy before moving to Australia in 1988.
Stefan now serves on the board of five community organisations and has been a member of the Daisi Board since 2002.
ORDINARY MEMBER
Marie Dudgeon is a local lass. She and her husband Trevor are the primary carers of their son Glen who is a dependant adult with a traumatic brain injury as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Marie is extensively involved in community volunteer work. She is also a Mentor to family members of brain injury patients through the NSW Brain Injury Association.
ORDINARY MEMBER
Ted de Roos has lived on the North Coast since 1995 and has been an active member of the community since then.
Ted has connections with local aboriginal and farming communities and he has been involved with a number of committees related to health and aged services.
